Conor McGregor has made plenty of fans since arriving in the UFC, thanks to his a thrilling skill set and knack for self promotion, but he’s also drawn plenty of criticism at the same time. Case in point, after Cole Miller beat Andy Ogle at UFC FN 30, he took a shot at the Irish fighter by calling him “Colin McGoober.”
While speaking to the media later on, Miller had plenty more to say about McGregor and why he wants to throw down with the rising featherweight.
“This is my fifteenth fight in the UFC. I’m over here looking at this guy and I know a show pony when I see one,” Miller relayed to the media after the fight. “That’s what Conor, Colin, whatever, Colin McGregor, Conor McGregor, I know that’s what he is….I’ve seen this guy walking around, looking all GQ, flying to this place, flying to that place, and then he’s calling out my teammates. Talking crap about Nik Lentz, talking crap about Dustin Poirier. Those dudes will run through you. You didn’t finish a 21 year-old kid with 8 MMA fights and you’re talking about about being a top ten contender? You haven’t even tested yourself against no kind of fighter, especially not one like me, so you can get out of here.”
So, clearly Miller is pretty interested in fighting McGregor, although since the latter is still sidelined due to knee surgery, he won’t be fighting for a few months yet.
McGregor talk aside, Miller scored a big win Saturday, as although his UD loss to Manny Gamburyan in August was controversial, he had gone 1-2 prior to the UFC FN 26 bout. With the victory, the 29 year-old, BJJ black belt has gone 9-6 to date in the UFC.
