City CarShare, the Bay Area?s only local, nonprofit carsharing provider, is looking for an intern for B2B marketing outreach.
City CarShare?s mission is to improve the environment and quality of life in our communities by promoting innovative mobility options. We provide convenient, affordable access to carsharing so that, together, we can reduce car dependency ? and have a measurable impact in the way our communities live, breathe, work, and play.
City CarShare is offering an opportunity for a highly motivated, self-starting, and creative college student who is passionate about carsharing and wants to receive hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing.
The intern will work with the marketing department to provide support to City CarShare staff and gain valuable skills and insights while assisting with development and implementation of B2B marketing plans.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The B2B Marketing Intern will work with the Director of Marketing Planning to assist in the development and implementation of City CarShare?s Business/Nonprofit Marketing and Outreach plan.
Tasks include:
- Target Outreach: Identifying and developing a database with contacts for a targeted list of Bay Area businesses and nonprofits that would benefit from joining City CarShare for their business travel/transportation needs.
- Communications: Participating in B2B communications development and implementation including B2B aspects of brand messages within the ?The Real Deal? campaign as well as targeted messages in a variety of media including social media, to build awareness, trial and retention of City CarShare?s business offering.
- Development: Developing marketing approaches and strategies to establish sales leads including attending local events and other outreach activities.
- Reporting: Tracking B2B memberships and responses to marketing efforts.
- Partnerships: Supporting ongoing partnership development activities.
- Assisting the Director of Marketing Planning with other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this internship will be enthusiastic, outgoing, and a team player. He/She should also have a strong interest in environmental and transportation issues. A background in marketing, public relations, or communications is desired. Interns must be detail-oriented, analytical, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as have advanced computer skills.? He/She should have a proven ability to work effectively with a variety of people, as well as be able to work independently. He/She needs to be able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

- Understanding of, and belief in, the City CarShare purpose and mission
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in small nonprofit with limited resources
- Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite required, Experience with In Design, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop preferred
- Skilled in leveraging social media and digital communications
- Valid California driver?s license

Commitment
This internship requires a 10-15 hour per week commitment for a minimum of 3 months, to begin late May. Working hours are flexible, but may include some evenings and weekends. The internship requires working out of the San Francisco headquarters and occasional travel throughout SF and the East Bay. Much of this travel can be done via transit. If car access is needed, it will be provided by City CarShare.
