The Florida Gators have turned to the junior college ranks to beef up their offensive line next season.
Nebraska transfer Tyler Moore and 2012 second-team junior college All-America Trenton Brown signed with the Gators on Wednesday, the school announced.
Florida also signed former Florida State defensive lineman Darious Cummings, who spent two seasons at East Mississippi Community College after attending Titusville?s Astronaut High ? the same school that produce Gators? legends Wilbur Marshall and Cris Collingsworth.
Moore, Brown and Cummings are expected to enroll in January and will be eligible to play in 2013.
?I've said a number of times that the Southeastern Conference is a line of scrimmage league and all three of these players will help us with our depth on the line of scrimmage,? coach Will Muschamp said.
Moore, a four-start recruit out of Clearwater?s Countryside High School, is the prize catch of the group. He played played in nine games, including four starts, as a true freshman in 2011 at Nebraska. He was named to ESPN.com?s All-Big Ten Freshmen team.
Projected to be the Cornhuskers starting left tackle, Moore (6-5, 312) decided to return home last summer, citing personal reasons, and enrolled at St. Petersburg College.
The mammoth Brown (6-8, 363) spent two years at Georgia Military College after he graduated from Westover High in Albany in 2011. He was named a second-team NJCAA Football All-American and was part of a team that averaged 188 rushing yards.
Brown chose the Gators over many schools including Florida State, Georgia and Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-1, 310-pound Darious Cummings spent two seasons at FSU and will give the Gators depth in the middle of the defense.
In 2012, he tallied 26 tackles, three sacks and two quarterback hurries for an 8-2 team that finished ranked 15th in the national polls. With Cummings as its anchor, East Mississippi?s defense yielded an average of just 74.2 rushing yards.
At FSU, Cummings ?appeared in three games as a true freshman and two games as a sophomore before an injury cost him most of the 2011 season. ?He transferred to EMCC last summer and chose Florida over several SEC schools, including Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
