The Daily News of Open Water Swimming: Are You Good Enough ...

When we think of the incredibly talented Australian open water swimmers, names like Annette Kellerman, Linda McGill, Shane Gould, Susie Maroney, Shelley Taylor-Smith, Melissa Cunningham, Tammy van Wisse, and Penny Palfrey immediately come to mind. As does the word champion.

These women are so multi-dimensional and multi-talented: motivational speaking, book writing, coaching, teaching, and swimming, they are non-stop dynamos.

Tara Diversi is another Australian open water swimmer who not only completed the English Channel in a relatively fast 9 hours 45 minutes this summer, but she also manages a whirlwind life with a smile as a successful entrepreneur as she does motivational speaking, book writing, university lecturing, dietary counseling, and executive coaching.

As a nutrition expert, Diversi is the author of 4 books: The Good Enough Diet, Client Behaviour, Presenting for Change, and Marketing Health. As an academic, she is a lecturer at the University of Sydney in the School of Molecular Biosciences, she runs a successful dietetic practice in Cairns, serves as a spokesperson of the Dietitians Association of Australia, and empowers people from all walks to life to believe in themselves and ignite their inner potential.

Her range of presentations is interesting and touches a variety of topics. "Being overweight reduces your life about 3 years. Being unhappy reduces your life about 9 years," is one of the points she makes.
